James traded a successful career in business for life on a barrier island working with sick and injured sea turtles. He found the inspiration for Treasure Coast when packages of illegal narcotics washed up on a local beach. James currently resides in San Diego, California, with his wife, Suzanne, and their dog, Marley, where he has discovered the joys of tequila and live music at large venues.
