Finding Time to Write and then Spending Your Writing Time Wisely©

Karen E. Osborne

If you’re anything like me, you have two time-management struggles tied to your writing life.

  1. Finding the time to write and

  2. Strategically using the time that you manage to carve out.

In this short video, I show you how you can go on a personal treasure hunt to FIND time. Uncover those urgent but not important things you are doing. Say no to them so you can say yes to your writing.

Once you’ve created the space in your life to write, you still must use those precious minutes or hours strategically. In my case, I designate writing time but also time for marketing and the other things tied to the business side of writing.

This form may help both of us. Write me if you’d like a blank copy to download and use. It comes with instructions. If you do try it, let me know about your alignment between preferred and actual. If you’re stuck for strategies to get things moving in the right direction, I can help. Reach out and let’s talk.

Here’s mine. I’m going to track actual time spent over the next seven days and fill in the form along with strategies for better alignment. Be sure to check back to see my updates and do share your tips and stories.
